Michael Kerr Madish

Loving husband, father and grandfather, Michael Kerr Madish, age 68, of Berwick passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital, after a long-term battle with lung cancer, heart disease and COPD. Mike passed peacefully surrounded by his family.  

Born in East Liverpool, Ohio on December 25, 1956, he was the son of the late John and Isabel G. (True) Madish. He attended Western Beaver High School in Industry, PA. Mike was employed at Crucible Steel in Midland, Pa,  Stauffer Chemicals, Houston Texas. After moving to Berwick in 1986, he worked for TRL Trucking where he pursued and obtained his dream of becoming a long-haul coast to coast driver and owner and operator of his own truck. During his time in Midland, PA, he was a professional drummer.

Mike was a lifetime Pittsburgh Pirates fan, and a semi fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He loved gardening and planting, especially with his only “Grandy-Daughter” Elise. He was also a dog lover.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Paula (Graebing) Madish with whom he would have celebrated 51 years of marriage on February 23rd; their daughter, Meredith Madish-Hoffman and husband Aaron, Berwick; granddaughter, Elise Taylor Neiderhiser, Bloomsburg. Mike is also survived by his sisters, Trudy Lopes and husband Chris, Berwick; Jody Madish, Berwick; brothers, Daniel Madish and wife Elizabeth, Virginia; Jack Madish and wife Karen, Michigan; and his many nieces and nephews.

At Mikes request there will be no services. Heller Funeral Home LLC, Nescopeck is assisting his family.
