Cindy S. Williams

Cindy S. (Hontz) Williams, age 68, of Berwick passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Berwick on November 23, 1956, she was a daughter of the late Howard H. and Zelda G. (Wida) Hontz. She was an honor graduate of Berwick Senior High School, class of 1974. She worked for several years at Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg. She was dedicated to her family and worked hard to provide a loving home for her husband and children.

Cindy loved going to the beach in North Carolina and she was an avid reader. Her greatest interest was in her family, spending time with them and attending her grandchildren’s activities. For many years, Cindy was a devoted Sunday School teacher at St James Lutheran Church, Hobbie.

In 1974, she married the love of her life, Harry C. Williams. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage this past October. He will greatly miss her in the days to come, as well as her children, Melissa Williams and companion Christopher J Cashman, Berwick, and Brian Williams and wife Michele, Nescopeck. She was a devoted grandmother to John Bushinski, Peyton Williams, Mallory Taney, and Jamison Taney. She also leaves behind sisters, Becky Rinehimer and husband Larry, Hobbie; BethAnn Thomas and husband Dave, Hobbie; several nieces and nephews; Uncle Lonnie Wida and wife Ruth, NC; many cousins including Holly Buffone with whom she had a close relationship; several in-laws and extended family members; best friend, Joyce Laubaugh and many other friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, John Hontz; grandmother, Cordelia Gilbert; and sister-in-law, Diane Siegfried.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 E Third St, Nescopeck. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 27th at Berwick Assembly of God Church, 801 E 5th St, Berwick.

Cindy was a 12-year survivor of a brain aneurism survivor. In lieu of flowers, her family requests memorial contributions in her memory to Joe Niekro Brain Aneurism Foundation, 2401 Fountain View Dr, Houston, TX 77057.
