Carol A. Johnson, age 72 of Catawissa passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025, at home with her family by her side.
Born in Shamokin on April 23, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Dorothy (Fegley) Markel. She was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School. In her younger years she worked for the Bloomsburg Hospital as an LPN. After giving birth to her children, she decided to be a homemaker and take care of her family until all 3 daughters were in high school. She then started working in Danville at Grandview where she worked for many years. She would also help her daughter Jenn in her shop, Timeless Designs, on the weekends.
Carol was a member of Christ United Evangelical Lutheran Church, Catawissa. She was part of the setup for the first Ronald McDonald House in Danville. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved cuddling her kitties and going to yard sales.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry E. Johnson; and son-in-law Michael J. Samsel.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Jennifer Ney and husband Michael, Bloomsburg; Pamela Samsel, Catawissa; and Mindy Farnsworth, Danville; 4 grandchildren; and 2 step grandchildren; sisters, Janice Melnick and husband Bob, CT; Dorothy Michaels and husband John, Lewisburg; and several nieces and nephews.
At the family’s request there will be no public services at this time. Heller Funeral Home, LLC Nescopeck is assisting her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the funeral home, 633 E. Third Street, Nescopeck to help defray the final expenses.
