Ruth Ann Fowler
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Ann (Heberling) Fowler on March 23, 2025, at the age of 82. Ruth will be greatly missed by her family.
Ruth was born on April 13, 1942, to Rose Heberling. She grew up in Shickshinny where she attended Northwest High School, class of 1959. Ruth worked in the Berwick cigar factory as a wrapper/layer prior to becoming a homemaker and mother. Later in life she cleaned houses for many individuals who became friends over the years. Ruth and Bill also volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House at Danville for 16 years.
She was a lifelong member of Bible Baptist Church, Shickshinny. She lived in Berwick through her adult life. Family meant everything to Ruth. She loved family gatherings and holidays.
She will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 62 years, William R. Fowler; children, Russ and wife Teresa, Lancaster; and Merri, Berwick; she was a wonderful grandmother too, Nate and wife Edessa; and Ben and companion Karly; and she was thrilled to have recently become a great-grandmother to Eliana Fowler. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Lane and husband Roger, Shickshinny. “Aunt Ruth” was also loved by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and goddaughters, Wendi VanWert and Brandi Cerra.
Funeral service will be held on Monday March 31, 2025, at 10:00am with Pastor James Kester officiating. Interment will take place in Sorber Cemetery, Shickshinny. Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Sunday March 30, 2025, at Heller Funeral Home LLC, 633 East Third St, Nescopeck and on Monday from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Bible Baptist Church, 43 Furnace St, Shickshinny, PA 18655, where she was a lifelong member; Leukemia & Lymphoma Society; or any charity of your choice.
The family would also like to express appreciation to Grandview Nursing Home for the excellent care she received in her final days.
