Byron E. Seigfreid, age 84 of Shickshinny Valley, passed away on March 26, 2025, at his home surrounded by family.
Born in Shickshinny on April 19, 1940, he was the son of the late Harold A. and Hazle A. (Killian) Seigfreid. He was a graduate of the first class to graduate from Northwest Area High School, class of 1957. He went on to join the US Army MPs and worked for his father at the Sawmill in Shickshinny Valley. In his younger years, he owned R&J Car Wash in Bloomsburg. For 42 years, he worked for Berwick Industries as head of the Extrusions Department.
He was an avid Penn State Football Fan and loved to mow grass. He enjoyed driving his vintage corvette and had his pilot’s license. He enjoyed coon hunting with his brother Howard and the Tri County Coon Hunters Club. He also enjoyed being a grandfather.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 59 years, Mary Ruth (Furek) Seigfreid; sons, Robin Seigfreid and wife Desiree, Shickshinny; and Josh Seigfreid, Shickshinny; and grandchild, Aidan; brother, Howard Seigfreid and wife Judy. He will also be missed by his niece, Becky Hossler and husband Art; nephews, Craig and Gary Seigfreid; and many other family and friends. He touched so many of our lives.
There will not be any services held but a celebration of life is scheduled for June 28th at the family Homestead in Shickshinny Valley for all to attend please reach out to Robin or Josh.
