Carl “Whitey” Cain, age 84, passed away on Sunday April 20, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in West Nanticoke on March 26, 1941, he was the son of the late Thomas L. and Lois M. (Engler) Cain. Whitey worked at Wise Potato Factory where he was a Union Steward for 25 years before retiring.
He was an avid golfer and outdoorsman. He loved hunting, especially for coyotes and deer. He took yearly trips to Myrtle Beach with his son, Scott, and friends.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Linda R. (Scott) Cain; daughter, Carol Serafin and husband Tim, Lexington Park, MD; sons, Scott Cain and wife Jody, Concord, NC; and David Cain, Goldsboro, NC; grandchildren, Stephanie and Brandon; and brother, Dale Cain, Folsom; and numerous nieces and nephews; and his dog, Millie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Merle Cain.
Memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday May 3, 2025, at Heller Funeral Home LLC, 633 E Third Street, Nescopeck. Family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until the time of service.
