Alyssa Denise Boyd

Alyssa Denise Boyd, age 23, of Bloomsburg passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025.

Born in Bloomsburg on February 3, 2002, she was the daughter of David L Jr and Lorie A (Yeager) Boyd of Bloomsburg. She was a graduate of Central Columbia High School and was currently working toward her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Alabama, where she expected to graduate this December. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.

Alyssa was a standout athlete who competed in several sports. She started playing soccer at an early age. She played for WAVE U14 soccer club where her team won the national championship. She also played on the high school basketball team, was a track runner and hurdler. Recently, she started playing golf, and she was a talented artist. She loved life, enjoyed socializing and was very outgoing. She could light up any room with her amazing and beautiful energy.

In addition to her parents, she will be greatly missed by her brother, Zachary Boyd; grandparents, David Sr and Janet Boyd; aunts and uncles, Scott Boyd and Charlene Stoudt; Kathleen and Tom Shanley; Denise and Matthew Stone; Randy and Stacy Yeager; cousins, Jessica Boyd; Dylan Boyd; Rowan Shanley; Jillian Shanley; Anthony Stone and wife Destiny, and their son, Noah; Jonathan Stone; Andrew Yeager; Elizabeth Yeager; and many extended family members. She also leaves behind her boyfriend, Julian Fleming and his family; numerous friends; and her beloved dogs, Bentley and Hudson.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Larry and MaryAnn Yeager.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church, 345 Market St, Bloomsburg. Her family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 PM, immediately followed by a service with Rev. Pamela Meilands officiating.
