Bonnie J. Confer, age 80, of Berwick, passed away on June 17, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Berwick on November 1, 1944, she was the daughter of the late George S. and Elizabeth J. (Moharter) Hunter. She was a graduate of Berwick High School. She worked at various local businesses, prior to retirement she was a para educator at Berwick School District and also worked at Knoebels Amusement Resort in ticket sales.
In her younger years, she played the organ for the Beach Haven Church. She loved playing bingo, going to craft shows and going to the movies. She was an avid reader. She always found the closest mall on any trip they took, so she could shop. She enjoyed doing word searches, crosswords and coloring.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley J. Confer; grandson, Nathan Karchner; sister, Georgia Bowen; and 2 brothers in infancy.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Melissa Karchner and husband Jan, Berwick; Victoria “Vicky” Kunsman, Bethlehem; Dawn Smith and partner Reece Hammer, Bloomsburg; son, Dennis Waters and wife Michelle, Berwick; and grandchildren, Shane, Corey, Karagin and fiancée Desteny, Kendra, Sierra and “DJ”.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Heller Funeral Home LLC, 633 E Third Street, Nescopeck. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday, June 22, 2025; and on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
