Norma Jane (Moyer) Jenkins, age 92, of Dorrance Twp passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025, at Mountaintop Rehab and Healthcare. She was also under the care of Serenity Hospice. She received wonderful care from the staff of both providers.
Born in Dorrance on May 31, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Roger and Evelyn (Siegel) Moyer. She was a graduate of Nescopeck High School. After graduation, she became an X-Ray technician at Berwick Hospital and later worked as a presser in several sewing factories in Wilkes-Barre.
When Norma’s son was younger, she was a member of the PTA and a Boy Scout Leader. She devoted her time to her family and provided a loving home for them. In later years, she enjoyed a quiet life. She was always a loving presence to her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Jenkins; her son, Duane Jenkins; a grandson, Eric Jenkins and sister, Janice Butchko; great nephew, Edward Sledziewski; and her long-time companion, Daniel Wood.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jill Jenkins; granddaughter, Amanda Fink; great grandsons, Jonah and Zane; and several nieces and nephews including, Jane Sledziewski and husband Edward; Lori Eckert and husband Joseph, Sandra Cox and husband John, and great nieces and nephews, Mickey, Ava & Lucy Eckert; and Darien Cox.
A private graveside service was held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, in Emmanuel Cemetery, Mountain Top.
