Alice A. (McCune) Talanca, age 77, of Berwick passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Bloomsburg.
Born in Berwick on June 15, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Eleanor (Kapes) McCune. She was raised in Wapwallopen and attended Newport Township High School.
On May 15, 1965, she married the love of her life, Peter J. Talanca Jr. Together they celebrated 55 years of marriage before his passing on August 15, 2020.
Alice’s attention was always centered around providing a loving home for her husband and children. She also shared Pete’s interest in amateur ham radio operating. In her free time, she enjoyed making wine and candles.
She will be greatly missed by her beloved children: Peter J. Talanca III and wife Lynne, Berwick; Ramona Hess, Wapwallopen; Edward J. Talanca and wife Marsha, Berwick; Thomas “Tuck” Talanca and wife Karen, Berwick; Jeremy Talanca, Berwick; 15 cherished grandchildren; 28 adored great grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter. She also leaves behind a sister, Sally Boock and husband Robert, Hazleton; sister-in-law, Maryann Talanca and companion Rosemary “Cheech” Corby; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Antonio Talanca in infancy; son-in-law, Brian Hess; sister, Carolyn Boran; and brothers-in-law, Robert Talanca, John “Bill” Talanca, Thomas M. Talanca.
Alice will be buried privately in Pine Grove Cemetery with her husband at the convenience of her family.
