Henry Setzer, age 96, of Berwick passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation, Danville where he was a patient for the past few months.

Born in Berwick on September 6, 1929, he was the last living of nine children born to the late Harry and Beatrice (Fish) Setzer. He was raised and educated in Berwick. For over 40 years he worked at Wise Potato Chips in Berwick.

In his younger years, Henry enjoyed bowling and was a member of a bowling league. He also loved taking care of his horse “King” whom he rode to school, the store, and other places.

He liked watching sports on TV, but if there was a family member playing any sport, he would be there in the bleachers cheering them on. He was an avid Berwick Bulldog fan and enjoyed attending the Friday night games. Henry focused on family; he loved them all dearly and showed it by doing anything for them. He was the greatest Dad. If he knew you needed help, he would be at the door with tools in hand to get the job done, without anyone asking. After retirement, he enjoyed making things from wood, often items suggested by his wife. It would always be a surprise seeing what he made to drop off for you.

Henry was a member of the former St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, now Berwick United Methodist Church.

He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Deanna Gross and husband Robert, Berwick; 4 grandchildren, Keith Fenstemaker; Stacy Kulp; Amy Setzer; and Casey Setzer; great grandchildren, Laryah Fenstemaker, Katrina and Olivia Kulp, and Braelyn Rinish; great-great grandchildren, Ryleigh and Madelynn Longenberger; Kyson Ney; and Greyson Vought; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Donna (Brown) Setzer in 2006; a son, Edward Setzer this past August; grandson, Harrison Fenstemaker; brothers, Donald Richards; Harry Setzer; Wesley Setzer; and Frank Setzer; sisters, Marion Hummel; Ruth Force; Janet Layos and Betty Yorks.

Family will receive friends on Monday December 8, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 E Third St, Nescopeck. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Berwick.
