Tracy J. Underhill, 61, of South Centre Township passed away on Friday, June 3, 2016 at home, surrounded by family, after her courageous fight with cancer.
Born in Berwick on November 1, 1954, she was the daughter of Barbara H. (Stout) Hart, of Berwick, and the late Melvin E. Hart. She was a 1972 graduate of Berwick High School and attended Geisinger School of Nursing to become a Registered Nurse. She was employed at Berwick Hospital Center for over 40 years.
Tracy was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mifflinville. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, bird watching, and traveling, especially to beaches. She liked sewing, and when her children were younger, she always made their Halloween costumes. She will be remembered by many for her excellent cooking. Tracy raised and loved Boston Terriers, including her most recent little companion, “Tippy Louise”.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Joey L. Underhill, Kingston; Ashley Koffel and husband Jason, Needville, TX; Jennifer M. Underhill, Bloomsburg; son, Corey Underhill, Santa Monica, CA; and their father, George Underhill. She was an amazing “Grammy” to her adored grandchildren, Mackenzi J. Raymond, Lexi Hill, Clara Koffel, and Gunnar Koffel. She also leaves behind a sister, Lisa Bremmer and husband Mark, Nescopeck; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 5th and Race Street, Mifflinville, with Reverend Brian Vasey officiating. Interment will follow in Mifflinville Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck.
