Eugene L. Harvey, 79, of Nescopeck passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Shenandoah Manor Nursing Center, where he had been a resident since May.
Born in Hazleton on February 12, 1937, he was a son of the late Wesley and Marion (Bennett) Harvey. He was raised and educated in the Brandonville area. He worked for 37 years as a heavy equipment operator at Princeton Nursery in New Jersey.
Eugene was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes.
He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Denise Foss and husband Warren, Berwick; son, Jeffrey Harvey and wife Joanne, Lambertville, NJ; grandchildren, Kevin Harvey and girlfriend Leah, Megan Riley and husband Edward, Rebecca Hoffman; great grandson, Eli Harvey; sister, Gladys Schell, Shenandoah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne E. (Kishbaugh) Harvey in 2012; twin, Wesley; and brothers and sisters, John, Belva, Frank, Florence, Pearl, Ida, Ruth, Margarit, Floye, and Joseph.
Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on February 11, 2017 at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck. Interment will be private in Brandonville.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be sent in his memory to Shenandoah Manor Nursing Center, 101 East Washington Street, Shenandoah, PA 17976, toward the activities fund.
