Ann L. Smith, A longtime resident of Nescopeck was called back to God early Saturday morning the 4th of February, 2017. Born and raised in Nescopeck as a child, a graduate of Nescopeck High School’s Class of “1960”, she later moved to Sugarloaf where she raised her new family. She returned to rural Nescopeck for the later years of life and that is where she and her family have chosen for her to rest in peace.
She loved her pets unconditionally and found it hard to turn away a stray. Dancing, motorcycle riding, planting her flower beds, cooking and baking, crocheting, traveling the country and her numerous trips to Florida were some of her favorite things to do. One of her classic stories she used to tell, and was so proud of, was when she took a trip with some high school girlfriends to Philadelphia to appear on American Bandstand to dance and get a chance encounter with Dick Clark.
She is preceded in death by her parents Arlene and Arthur Santee. She leaves behind her husband of 55 years, Arden L. Smith. She is the Mother to 2 children, Brian Smith of Hollywood, FL, and Kelly (Smith) Brosious of Sugarloaf, PA and grandmother to 2 grandchildren, Dane and Taylor Brosious of Sugarloaf Pa. She is the sister of Yvonne (Santee) Fenstemaker of Berwick Pa. She will also be missed by her current pet -Junea, her Old English Sheepdog.
A private service for immediate family has been held at her residence. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in her honor can be given to the Animal Resource Center (a no kill center for animals) at 301A Boone Road, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
