Harold E. Steward, 66, of Berwick passed away on July 27, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.
Born in Bloomsburg on June 14, 1951, he was the son of the late Loren S. Steward and Betty (Rockwell) Kressler. He was a graduate of Central Columbia High School and Williamsport Area Community College. Harold retired from Bloomsburg Carpet, where he was employed for 31 years.
Harold loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, dirt track racing, and horse racing.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 44 years, Judy (Layos) Steward; sons, Christopher Steward and wife Lori, Norristown; Kyle Steward, Bloomsburg; grandsons, Nicholas and Charles. He is also survived by stepsisters, Joan Underwood and husband Bill, Millville; Barb Doebler and husband Ed, Linden; Carol Montero, Harrisburg; stepbrother, Kenneth Kressler and wife Denise, Bloomsburg; aunt, Beverly Keller; uncle, Ludlum “Boots” Rockwell; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Loren A. Steward; stepsister, Linda Fester; stepbrother, Albert Kressler, Jr; and stepfather, Albert Kressler, Sr.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday August 1, 2017 at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Berwick. Family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 pm.
