John D. Walker

John D. “J.D.”Walker, 60, of Danville, formerly of Berwick, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born in Darmstadt, Germany on September 21, 1957, he was the son of Naomi L. (Stouffer) Walker of Chambersburg, PA and the late Leslie J. Walker. He graduated from high school in Chambersburg, and served in the US Navy from 1975 to 1981. After an honorable discharge he was employed by PP&L at the Susquehanna Nuclear Power Plant in Berwick, retiring after 37 years.

J.D. was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Berwick. He was also a member of the Nescopeck Hunt and Rifle Club. He enjoyed hunting, and loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 37 years, Elizabeth “Betsy” (Vorhees) Walker; children: Lucas Walker and wife Erin, NC; David Walker and wife Emily, Danville; Lisa Lieb and husband Christopher, Berwick; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Olivia, James, Katherine, Beckett, and Eleanor. He also leaves behind sisters, Cynthia Koontz, OH; Karen Costa and husband Michael, Chambersburg; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother Michael Walker.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Berwick from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. A funeral service will immediately follow with Reverend David Kingsborough officiating.
