Donald D. Hewlett, 74, of Berwick passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville where he was a patient for the past week.
Born in Danville on October 2, 1947, he was a son of the late Herbert and Katheryn (Hosler) Hewlett. He was a graduate of Berwick High School, class of 1965. In 1967, Donald entered the US Navy and served until 1970, during the Vietnam War. After an honorable discharge, he worked for Wise Potato Chips until he retired in 2010.
Donald was an avid fisherman, but also liked going camping and bowling. He enjoyed all kinds of sports, some of his favorites were Penn State football and wrestling, Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, and Villanova basketball.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, including his Grandma Hosler, with whom he was very close.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Patsy A. (Willis) Hewlett, with whom he would have celebrated 46 years of marriage this May; their fur babies Jody, Josey, and Jamie; and many extended family member and friends.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Monday, March 21, 2022, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck. A graveside service with military honors will follow at 11:30 AM in Pine Grove Cemetery, Berwick.
