Ruth G. Sitler, 81, of Berwick passed away on Monday morning, November 9, 2015 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Berwick on September 7, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Calvin and Ruth Edith (Varner) Hart. She graduated from Berwick high school. Ruth worked for Wise Potato Chips for 40 years before retiring.
Ruth was a member of the Danville Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she was active with the community services program. She also volunteered at the Nescopeck Community Cupboard.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald J. Sitler in 2006; step son, Donald “Terry” Sitler; and grandson, Terry Sitler; sister, Marie Lutz; brothers, Ralph Hart, Delroy Hart, and Lester Hart.
Ruth will be greatly missed by her son, David J. Sitler and wife Cinda Lea, Crossville, TN; step sons, Toby Sitler and wife Tina, Dover DE, Todd Sitler and wife Dee, Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Heather, Jason, Devon, Nehemiah, Sharon; great grandchildren, Austin and Essex; brothers, Kenneth Hart, Donald Hart, and Randall Hart; sister, Dorothy Belles and Linda Eyer, all of the greater Berwick area; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM on Thursday, November 12, 2015, at Heller Funeral Home, LLC, 633 East Third Street, Nescopeck. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM, with Pastor John Peters officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Berwick.
